About My Work

I live in East Suffolk in a small town called Framlingham, about 20 miles from Ipswich. Although in the past I have worked all over the UK I am increasingly focusing my work within my local area. However, there are occasions when I will travel to work elsewhere in the UK and I have a number of training commitments that take me to Europe and further afield.

Most of my work is with professionals who work with either children, young people or parents and carers. The groups I most frequently work with include teachers, parent educators, family support professionals and those working in childrens' social care and welfare services.

An increasing part of my work is training and supervising people who use transactional analysis in their work, including those who are qualifying in transactional analysis.

My work is focused on mid- and long-term projects typically supporting school and service development. This can involve a combination of the following:

I deliver training - whole school in-service training days, twilight sessions, bespoke in-house training; input for groups of staff, eg. on-site provision staff, learning mentors, NQTs. I also deliver the Introductory Certificate in Transactional Analysis in addition to additional accredited TA training.

I provide consultancy - to local authorities, specific support services and schools with regard to developing policy and practice around relationships, teaching and learning.

I offer professional mentoring - to individual managers within schools, services and local authorities. This involves providing opportunities to think through and reflect on a range of operational and strategic issues. This can cover a couple of one-off sessions or span an extended period of a couple of terms or a year.

I no longer provide one- to-one support to parents or children. I no longer provide one-off training sessions for services/schools.
